Recovered from the food poisoning, working hard to catch up with the veggies.
Finished digging the veggie patch at home to full size - three 8ft x 8ft beds with a long thin bed for onions and garlic. Only had 2 8ft x 8ft beds last year.
Loads of veggies sown and potted on, loads of weeding done.
A friend came round and helped break the pallets and build a fence to keep the dogs off the veggie patch. It looks pretty good. Dogs found it a bit strange at first, kept trying to get through it, under it and over it, but they soon accepted the veggie patch is out of bounds!
Total cost for the fence was about £30 for a bag of nails, couple of hinges, gate catches and a few bags of ready mixed post hole cement. There is only one gate at the moment - there is still a tree trunk and big bramble patch to remove at the other end - we'll deal with that later, not urgent. At least I have the materials needed to complete the fence when the time comes.
